The 6th International Conference on Laser, Optics, and Optoelectronic Technology (LOPET 2026) Successfully Concluded in Zibo.

On May 16, 2026, the 6th International Conference on Laser, Optics, and Optoelectronic Technology (LOPET 2026) was grandly held in Zibo, Shandong. Hosted by the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shandong University of Technology, the conference brought together leading experts and scholars in the fields of laser, optics, and optoelectronics from across China, attracting over 130 attendees to discuss cutting-edge advances and future directions in the disciplines.

The opening ceremony was moderated by Professor Zhang Wenfei from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shandong University of Technology. Professor Sun Yuping, Dean of the School, delivered the opening address, warmly welcoming all participating experts and scholars, and introducing the School's achievements in discipline development and its vision for future growth in optics and optoelectronic technology. Also present at the opening ceremony were Party Secretary Liu Cande and Associate Dean Professor Yin Guangchao.

Four distinguished invited experts gave plenary keynote presentations. Professor Xu Zhengyuan from the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Dong Bo from Shenzhen Technology University, Professor Liu Yue from Beijing Institute of Technology, and Associate Professor Xu Zhengji from Sun Yat‑sen University (online) shared their latest research findings on underwater wireless optical communication, hybrid photonic thermo-optic modulation, lightweight single-image super‑resolution, and passive non-reciprocal metasurfaces, respectively. The presentations sparked lively discussions and in‑depth exchanges among attendees.

In the afternoon, the conference featured three thematic sub‑forums focusing on "Optoelectronic Materials and Devices," "Imaging, Sensing, and Detection," and "Advanced Laser Manufacturing." A total of 21 oral presentations and 38 poster displays by young scholars were arranged across the parallel sessions, fully demonstrating the innovative vitality and academic potential of early‑career researchers in the field.

To encourage academic innovation and exchange, the conference selected 3 outstanding papers, 3 outstanding oral presentations, and 3 outstanding posters, recognizing research achievements and academic excellence in their respective areas.
